Teemu Vidgren is a Finnish designer and interior architect based in Riihimäki, Finland, where his studio is also located. Working across furniture, textiles, and objects, his practice combines material-driven design with craftsmanship and also includes spatial design.

Drawing on Finnish cultural heritage and vernacular design language, his work studies the relationships between structure, material, and use, and reinterprets traditional furniture, objects, and textiles through a contemporary approach. Natural, long-lasting materials and traditional making play an important role in the development of his works.

Teemu Vidgren holds a Master’s degree in Interior Architecture from Aalto University (2022), with a minor in textile design, and a Bachelor’s degree in Design from Turku University of Applied Sciences (2018). After working in the architecture field, he now focuses on his independent design practice and teaches part-time at Aalto University.

His current practice is supported by a one-year working grant from the Finnish Cultural Foundation, a collection development grant from the Kalevala Koru Cultural Foundation, and a grant from the Jussi Eiramo Foundation for establishing his studio.

The studio serves as a workspace and a place for presenting work. Visitors are welcome to drop by or arrange a visit in advance.
